TESTIMONIALS
We are senior citizens who needed to escape the 110+ temperatures of the PHX area. New Mexico is our favorite state, and Rose's place stood out because of its nearness to the state line. We enjoyed the black night skies for watching the meteor shower, the fire pit for roasting marshmallows, and the peace and quiet in general. I loved meeting Eleanor, the cow, and petting her along the fence! I wish I'd been able to walk around the farm and meet the other animals, but I'm learning to be content with my limitations. We played cards and Monopoly, caught up on our episodes of The Guardian on Prime, and worked two jigsaw puzzles at the kitchen table. Our small dog, Tucker, enjoyed his freedom in the fenced yard - maybe a bit too much as he introduced himself to a skunk one night! Many thanks to Rose and her family for a memorable vacation! Our family absolutely fell in love with the Bear Paw Ranch. Everything about it felt magical. I truly did not want to leave to return to city life. Rose and Grace were so friendly and helpful. The manual that they put together was so thorough. You really can’t go wrong following any of the hike/activity recommendations. We did the Catwalk trail, Dragonfly near Silver City, Gold Dust and rode up to visit the old mining town of Mogollon… so neat! My husband and son took the drive up to Turkey Creek. On the property itself you could walk for hours just looking at the old relics of the past scattered all over the place. Or just enjoy the hammock while listening to all of the birds! The Stewart House was the most well stocked Air BNB I’ve ever stayed in honestly. The layout of the home was perfect for a family of four. We truly enjoyed this place so much. It was relaxing and so peaceful! The hiking in the area was so fun. Oh and the drive to Stafford, AZ was beautiful!! Stephanie July 2024
This cabin was truly magical. When you arrive you are greeted by the sound of the creek and the beautiful stairs leading up to the cabin front door. When you enter the cabin it has a cozy feeling. The kitchen is perfect the way every thing is set up and cooking on the old stove was perfect! Both rooms were very comfortable. We walked over to the little museum and looked around then walked around the pond which was very beautiful!! We spent our mornings on the front porch drinking coffee and in the evenings just relaxing after a hike to the Catwalk. Definitely coming back! Mandi June 2024
Words alone cannot explain how wonderful and comfortable, and cozy the Pond Cabin is, where my friend and I stayed for 3 nights. Rose is an Excellent host, and cares deeply about her property, and it shows on every level there is, inside and outside as well. The Pond Cabin is in excellent condition, clean, sturdy and close to the Gila River to hunt for rocks, watch for Cranes, and other birds like Red Cardinals. Red Tailed Hawks.. The location of the cabin is within sight of the magnificent Mogollon Ridge which was covered in a spring snow. Absolutely stunning and enchanting. Even in the winter weather we had while there visiting, everything was Perfect! I hope to return as soon as I can, and enjoy the beauty and pristine location of Rose's Bear Paw Ranch. Sue March 2024
I highly, highly (10 STARS) recommend "Bear Paw Ranch". It is so peaceful and beautiful. Just to wake up and hear the outdoors every morning was so relaxing. Rose and her family are wonderful host. If we needed anything we had at within 10 mins. This is the second time we have stayed at the ranch, and it didn't disappoint. Me and family had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed everything on the Ranch. We also rented the tent down by the lake, it was also awesome! Thank you Rose for another wonderful stay! No doubt the same review as everyone else…great value and truly personalized. There is way more to this place than you realize just from the listing….In New Mexico it can go from desert to mountains to river in the blink of an eye….this place is right on the convergence of all three and it is so nice. It was made out of love and steady hands and it shows…for those who actually work you will get tired looking at it because you know what it takes to create a place like this. Beyond all that it was very clean and such a safe relaxing place to take in your life and trip. Highly recommend and will be back! Matt August 2023
If you want a true place of heaven in Earth, this is it. A most amazingly peaceful connection with nature and surrounding animals...not to mention a lovely and comfortable home filled with unique moments of time and a host who is just as accommodating. Highly recommended. Angela Breda April 2017
The Gate House was perfect for my husband and me...and for our dog. The property is enclosed by a fence and gate, so our dog could roam freely. We could also roam the entire ranch, including walking to the Gila River, to ponds, and to hilly areas. Rose is a delightful, attentive host and gave us directions to several lovely hikes in the Gila wilderness. We came to the Gate House tired and left relaxed and refreshed. Thank you, Rose, Sherry, Jesse, Cooney, and Toby! Susan Bryan April 2017
We used this as a jumping off point for our trips, but next time, the cabin will be our destination. It is perfectly rustic and just beautiful. The creek will lull you to sleep, and everything has been thoughtfully put together to offer just what you need to relax and not an ounce more. Total serenity. Scott Lorson April 2017
This cabin was amazingly quiet. We loved it. The bed is incredibly comfortable, the towels were plush, the kitchen well outfitted, the yard much more inviting in person than the pictures. The pond with hammock is incredible. The "museum" interesting! The hiking and exploration tips that were offered upon our asking were spot on for us- Sherri pegged our car's capabilities and our hiking abilities quite perfectly. She knows of some really beautiful spots. I dare not write more as I want this place to be available next Spring!

The Stewart House is a wonderful gathering space for many, with a well-appointed and spacious kitchen, dining table, and large living room with fireplace. Our friends stayed at the charming Pond House, so we gathered for meals and around the fire place at the Stewart House to toast in the New Year. The property is also a wonderful place to explore with scenic views at every turn and an historic look into old farm equipment situated across the land. We had a fabulous time. This is a place to find rest and restore one's senses in a true land of enchantment. Julie Hampton January 2017
We had a lovely stay at the Gate House for three days in December. It was comfortable and peaceful, located in a beautiful setting. We enjoyed walking around the ranch, visiting with the horses, chickens and turkeys, and seeing two javelinas (wild pigs) on an excursion down to the river. We and our Subaru enjoyed the drive up Turkey Creek Road for fabulous vistas (four-wheel-drive recommended), and Gila was an easy drive to the Catwalk hike in Glenwood. The starry skies and dead silence at night were incredible. Rose, Sherry and Jesse were friendly, helpful hosts. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

The serene sound of the babbling brook and migrating birds were the only sounds out there. My wife and I had a beautiful weekend walking to the Gila River and talking to some of the locals. The cabin's rustic romantic warmth was perfect for the brisk fall nights. We loves every bit of it. It is definitely going to be our go to getaway from now on. Efrain Mendoza November 2016
Rose has a wonderful property. We actually spent the whole day there instead of venturing out to hike. The cabin was cozy and clean. Wi-fi is also a plus! Katie and Tyson Gauss November 2016
